Project Evaluation

Personally I am happy about the finished video, as it's been a while since I've done any editing, so I think I've done a pretty good job doing it. I've also learned more about it, for example - how to deal with colour correction. It might not be perfect, but it's way better than the original footage.  I've chose this commission because I wanted to get some practice operating the camera which I did and got some really nice close ups of people. I really enjoyed the production, even though we were a bit late (apparently leaving 2 hours early wasn't enough) and didn't get all the shots we planned to, ran out of memory and Michael wasn't feeling well. Aside from all of those hiccups I had fun filming the conference and was excited to get back to editing. Where I actually looked through the footage and saw some really nice pull focus shots. When light waves of all three primary colours are added together in a proportion that relates to the colour sensitivity of the human eye (59 % green, 30% red and 11% blue) the resulting effect is white. Saturation - the intensity or vividness of a colour. (colours range from highly saturated to pastels) Luminance - brightness of the colour. These are the things I leanrned from it. People like to be engaged, this way they help to spread the company's ideas without even being asked.  Sergei M. Eisenstein and Vsevolod Pudovkin were looking for ways of using film to create new art when they discovered montage, which is the art of combining pieces of film or shots into larger units-first, the scene, then the sequence, and, finally the complete film. (BRAUDY and COHEN, 2004)    “Eisenstein viewed montage as a kind of collision or conflict, especially between a shot and its successor. Colour Theory and Correction

For our project I had to do lots of colour correction as we were filming a conference which was lit by mixed flouorecent lighting and the images came of as very yellow and green. In the art world RED BLUE and YELLOW are the primary colours, meaning you cannot make them by mixing any other colours together. By mixing them together you get secondary colours as showed in the picture above. By mixing secondary colours with the primary colours you get tertiary colours  (The Interaction Design Foundation, 2018) Colours can be also divided into: Complimentary - meaning they are opposite to each other on the colour wheel (like red and green ) Analogus - meaning they are 3 colours beside each other (like sky blue , blue  and purple   ) Triadic - meaning they are 3 colours, equally spaced out over the colour wheel (like green , yellow and purple ) However, this method is used only by artist to mix paint, the primary colours on digital screens are RED , GREEN and BLUE...
